Position Overview: Meter and Relay Specialist

The Meter and Relay Specialist is a seasoned technician with in-depth knowledge of substation protection, control systems, and metering devices. Key responsibilities encompass the installation, upkeep, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of protective relays, metering systems, recording instruments, control devices, and SCADA technology. This role also involves conducting assessments on substation equipment and managing operations while adhering to safety protocols and organizational standards.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Installation and maintenance of protective relay systems and metering devices.
  • Testing and troubleshooting of control systems and SCADA equipment.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Operating substation apparatus and performing necessary repairs.
  • Managing tools, testing equipment, and vehicles effectively.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational background.
  • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or similar training program.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the meter and relay sector.
  • Successful completion of a pre-qualifying skills assessment.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving history.
  • Commercial Motor Vehicle Medical Card (CMV) is required.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 5 years of experience as a Meter and Relay Specialist.
