Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Substation Engineer to join our team at Kiewit Corporation. As a key member of our Substation and Transmission Line Design team, you will be responsible for creating design documents and drawings for substation projects ranging from 12kv to 500kV.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the project team to develop design documents and drawings, including one and three-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, communications diagrams, wiring diagrams, substation layout plans, section and detail drawings.
  • Develop specifications for the procurement, installation, and testing of substation equipment.
  • Apply engineering application software to complete engineering tasks such as ground grid design, equipment sizing, relay coordination, and electrical studies.
  • Communicate and coordinate project activities with project lead, customer representatives, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • At least 2 years of experience performing engineering-related duties preferred.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards, including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English language.
  • Legally able to work in the United States for any length of time.
