Reporting To: Clinical Director/Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Certified Clinical Addiction Counselor (CCAC) at Arbor Care Solutions is responsible for delivering extensive addiction counseling and assistance to individuals facing substance use challenges. The CCAC will work alongside a multidisciplinary treatment team and healthcare professionals to create tailored treatment strategies, guiding clients through their recovery process.

Key Duties:
  1. Assessment and Diagnosis:
    • Perform thorough evaluations to identify substance use disorders and related mental health conditions.
    • Employ standardized assessment instruments and interviews to collect client histories and determine suitable treatment approaches.
  2. Treatment Development:
    • Create personalized treatment strategies based on assessment results and client aspirations.
    • Collaborate with clients to establish realistic short-term and long-term recovery goals.
  3. Counseling Services:
    • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions to address addiction-related challenges.
    • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
    • Lead support groups and educational sessions on substance use prevention and recovery techniques.
  4. Case Coordination:
    • Facilitate care coordination with other healthcare providers, including medical professionals, psychiatrists, and social workers.
    • Guide clients to relevant community resources, such as housing, employment, and educational opportunities.
  5. Crisis Management:
    • Offer immediate assistance and intervention during crisis situations, including risk evaluations and safety planning.
    • Collaborate with emergency services when necessary to ensure client safety and stabilization.
  6. Team Collaboration:
    • Effectively engage within a treatment team environment, actively collaborating with colleagues and healthcare providers to ensure holistic care.
  7. Documentation and Compliance:
    • Maintain precise and confidential client records in accordance with applicable regulations.
    • Complete all necessary documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, promptly.
    • Stay informed about documentation standards for private pay and Medicaid.
  8. Professional Growth:
    • Engage in continuous training and professional development to remain updated with best practices in addiction treatment.
    • Participate in regular supervision and team meetings to discuss cases and enhance clinical competencies.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Active CCAC certification; fully licensed candidates preferred. Provisionally licensed individuals with verifiable experience may also be considered.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in substance abuse counseling or a related field.
  • Understanding of substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities and intervention strategies.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time, in-office role with the potential for some weekend responsibilities, including managing crisis calls. The work is primarily conducted in an office setting.
