About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Patient Service Representative to join our team at Oak Orchard Community Health Center. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration and Scheduling: Accurately register new patients in our electronic medical record (EMR) system, verifying demographic and insurance information for accuracy. Schedule future appointments as needed, both in person and via phone.
  • Patient Check-in and Check-out: Promptly and courteously greet arriving patients and guests, checking them in and out, and collecting any payments required from the patient.
  • Payment Processing: Process payments received via mail, phone, or in-person, and balance cash receipts at the end of each shift.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Maintain phone etiquette, answer phones, transfer calls, take accurate messages, and assign them appropriately. Respond to patient and physician inquiries, and reschedule appointments as needed.
  • Administrative Tasks: Scan all completed patient paperwork into the patient EMR in a timely manner, maintain a safe and clean work area, and adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with 1-2 years of medical office experience or call center experience preferred.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Effective communication and customer service skills, ability to work a flexible schedule, and participate in organizational efforts to provide high-quality patient care.
