Key Responsibilities:- Exhibit professional competency in nursing practices.
- Ensure a welcoming and compassionate environment for patients.
- Take charge of patient care responsibilities as directed by the co-assigned RN or physician.
- Accurately document patient data, care provided, and medication administration in line with unit standards.
- Engage in patient education alongside the assigned RN as per the care plan.
- Identify and communicate patient and family needs to the care team.
- Monitor changes in patient status and seek appropriate resources when necessary.
- Promote safe and effective patient care through adherence to established healthcare practices.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and improve care programs.
Graduation from an accredited School of Practical Nursing with a valid LPN license in New York State is required.
Certifications:BLS certification is mandatory.
Physical Requirements:Must be capable of moving or transferring patients with a weight equivalent to 50 lbs. A full range of motion is necessary to perform essential job functions, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching throughout a 12-hour shift.
Language and Communication Skills:Proficiency in reading, writing, and interpreting documents in English, including safety guidelines and operational procedures, is essential. The ability to respond to inquiries and effectively present information to various audiences is also required.
Mathematical Skills:Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as working with fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Skills:Capable of solving practical problems and addressing a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
Working Environment:Potential exposure to biohazardous materials and communicable diseases. The role may involve handling emergency situations and requires flexibility in working hours.
