About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Professional to join our team as a Sous Chef at Senior Living Communities. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service: Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including hot and cold dishes, soups, and desserts, to meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Assist in planning and executing menus that meet the nutritional and culinary needs of our residents, while also considering budget and resource constraints.
  • Supervision and Team Management: Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure that they are following proper food safety and handling procedures, and that they are meeting the high standards of our culinary team.
  • Inventory Management and Control: Manage inventory levels and control food costs to ensure that we are meeting our budget and resource goals.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Ensure that all food is prepared and served to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-volume dining services venue, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity. A 2-year culinary degree is preferred.
  • Certifications and Training: Possess and maintain Safe Serve certification, and have knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and safety protocols and regulations.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to read, write, and follow directions in a recipe, lead and direct the work of others, and work with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions and Environment

The physical demands of this role include standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and residents is essential.

This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional development and growth.
