Job Summary

The Associate Dean for Business and Technology is a key leadership position at Baltimore City Community College, responsible for overseeing the academic and administrative functions of the Business and Technology department. Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Strategic Planning
    • Develop and implement departmental plans and budgets in alignment with the college's strategic goals.
    • Provide leadership and support for teaching excellence and student success.
    • Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Curriculum and Instruction
    • Coordinate and lead the implementation of curriculum analysis and review.
    • Develop and implement strategies to support recruitment, retention, and program completion.
    • Advocate for the use of technology and alternative delivery methods to enhance student learning.
  • College Relations and Partnerships
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with local, state, and national educational and community agencies.
    • Engage with departmental program advisory councils and boards.
  • Administration and Management
    • Supervise and evaluate personnel, including faculty and staff.
    • Coordinate and oversee the assignment of mentors to new faculty.
    • Conduct annual performance evaluations and workload plans.
Requirements
  • Education
    • An earned Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a discipline taught in the department.
  • Experience
    • Two years' experience in a related discipline as a chair or associate dean in higher education.
    • Minimum of three years as full-time faculty with demonstrated excellence in post-secondary teaching experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Doctorate in a discipline taught within the department or related field.
