Associate Dean of Development and Alumni Relations

We are seeking an exceptional Associate Dean of Development and Alumni Relations to join our team at the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University. This is a unique opportunity to lead our development and alumni relations efforts, working closely with the Dean, faculty, and staff to advance the school's mission and priorities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership for development and alumni relations, with a focus on increasing philanthropic revenue from individuals, alumni, corporations, and foundations.
- Lead the evaluation, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of significant major and principal gift prospects and donors.
- Directly supervise a team of development professionals and manage a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects.
- Work closely with the Dean and faculty to develop private support and priorities for the school, and actively participate in the school's leadership team.
- Manage the school's campaign planning process, ensuring that fiscal goals and priorities are achieved.
- Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, with a strong background in higher education fundraising.
- Proven ability to close major and principal gifts, with a track record of success in multifaceted capital campaign planning and implementation.
- Experience developing and managing large, complex budgets, with a strong understanding of financial acumen.
- Ability to plan strategically, organize, and establish objectives and priorities while achieving goals in an aggressive organizational environment.
- Aptitude in understanding and articulating academic goals, with experience working collaboratively with academic leadership, faculty, students, alumni, and volunteers.
- Demonstrated experience in managing advisory boards and volunteer leadership, with a strong ability to mentor and manage development professionals and administrative staff.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas, vision, and plans for the school in a persuasive and compelling manner.
