Job Title:

Senior Field Engineer

About the Role:

The Senior Field Engineer provides high-level technical support to our clients, delivering exceptional in-person customer service and expertise in implementing, maintaining, and resolving technical issues related to IT hardware, software, and network equipment. This role requires a strong customer service focus, effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with peers to find the best solutions for clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot IT hardware, software, and network equipment for clients.
  • Provide proactive work on behalf of clients, ensuring their IT environments are optimized and secure.
  • Work through our ticketing system to configure, implement, monitor, manage, and support all client IT environments.
  • Setup, deploy, and replace Windows desktops and laptops, as well as install Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Setup and install network equipment, such as switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Setup, deploy, replace, and support server hardware and Windows Server operating systems, as well as server virtualization.
  • Coach and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support to develop their technical skills.
Requirements:
  1. Three to five years of hands-on experience configuring, deploying, supporting, and troubleshooting PC hardware, Windows operating systems, and Windows applications, server hardware and operating systems, and networking equipment.
  2. Experience working with 3rd party vendors and providing technical support to clients.
  3. College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, or equivalent experience.
  4. Industry certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, and other relevant certifications are a plus but not required.
Work Conditions:

This role requires local travel with 90% of time spent at client sites, so a clean driving record is required. There will be limited after-hours work, but the ability to work on-call is necessary. This role may require sitting or standing for extended periods, lifting moderately heavy objects, and climbing ladders or working in confined spaces.
