Job Summary
As a Meter Electrician Technician at Edison International, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our electrical meters. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical systems and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and test electrical meters to ensure they are functioning correctly
- Repair and replace defective parts as needed
- Verify register ratios and meter constants
- Use test instruments to evaluate metering equipment and load survey devices
- Test insulation of meters and associated equipment
- Perform meter tests and compute error
- Adjust meters to bring accuracy within prescribed limits
- Check and update meter nameplate data and programs
- Record test results in company systems
Requirements
- Experience in electrical or mechanical repair
- Valid driver's license
- Electronics or electrical engineering degree or certification
- Experience as a commercial or residential electrician
- Working knowledge of power tools and hand tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong mathematical and algebraic skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
