Job Description

The Quality Assurance Specialist is a key member of the production team at The Kraft Heinz Company, responsible for ensuring compliance with governmental regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to perform quality assurance-related tasks with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform pre-operative sanitation audits and daily housekeeping audits to ensure a clean and safe production environment.
  • Coordinate corrective action to ensure maximum uptime of production lines and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct bacteriological swabbing on equipment and environmental surfaces to maintain a high level of food safety.
  • Assure the integrity of the HACCP plan by verifying that online metal detectors are operating properly and component ingredient statements match approved label copy.
  • Document and file records of quality assurance activities.
  • Conduct incoming meat and raw material inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Perform swabbing on incoming materials as necessary to maintain a high level of quality.
  • Conduct hourly weight control checks using a weight net computer to ensure accurate product weights.
  • Conduct residual oxygen analysis on packages using a Mocon gas analyzer to ensure product quality.
  • Conduct Carbon Dioxide / Nitrogen analysis on gas mixtures using Fyrite or Mocon analyzers to ensure product quality.
  • Conduct seal strength analysis on packages using vacuum chamber equipment to ensure product integrity.
  • Conduct finished product evaluations (case audits) to ensure product quality and safety.
  • Place product on production hold as necessary and ensure accurate and factual information regarding holds is conveyed to the Quality Systems Coordinator.
  • Enter and track component complaint information on the component complaint log.
  • Assist with training, problem-solving, and troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Participate in the QRMP yearly audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions.
  • Complete other projects or duties as assigned by the Quality Systems Manager or Quality Systems Coordinator.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in accessing information stored in data systems and experience using computer applications, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting written material and quantitative data to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on that data.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear and concise reports.
  • Ability to make presentations and persuade others to accept a specific opinion or action or provide information and instruction.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team.
  • Must be familiar with the Lunchables process and must have demonstrated communication and documentation skills.
