Job Title: Sr Controls Engineer

EnerSys Delaware, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Sr Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for our industrial applications.

Job Summary

The Sr Controls Engineer will be responsible for managing complex projects, including generating justification, total cost, project schedule, and ROI. You will also be responsible for ensuring the controls engineering team is on task and projects are completed on time. This includes ensuring the team completes all required safety training, blood draws, hearing tests, and blood lead result signoffs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage complex projects, including generation of justification, total cost, project schedule, and ROI.
  2. Ensure the controls engineering team is on task and projects are completed on time.
  3. Attend daily MDI level 5 and 3 meetings in all required areas.
  4. Support the troubleshooting, adjustment, maintenance, and repair of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical automatic and semi-automatic packaging machinery, equipment, and systems.
  5. Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
  6. Generate project plans, perform budget maintenance, and resource coordination for assigned projects.
  7. Continual development and implementation of process improvements.
  8. Coordinate machine preventative maintenance.
  9. Research, design, procure, implement, test, and monitor new mechanical and/or electronic systems, technologies, and equipment.
  10. Direct installation, integration, and operational testing of electrical and/or electronic equipment.
  11. Obtain and maintain operational efficiencies of machinery and equipment.
Requirements
  1. BS Degree in relevant engineering discipline.
  2. Minimum of two (2) years of project-based engineering experience.
  3. Knowledge of control wiring and safety circuit design.
  4. Knowledge of Fanuc robot programming and Motoman robot experience.
  5. Knowledge of PLC, HMI, and ethernet-based I/O devices.
  6. Communications skills, both verbal and written.
  7. Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  8. Self-motivation and ability to work without close supervision.
  9. Ability to work with customers to define and document requirements.
  10. Data-driven problem-solving methodology.
  11. Ability to develop and deliver presentations to communicate status, problem resolution, and recommendations.
