Job Summary

This position is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of a landfill gas to energy facility in Angleton, TX. The successful candidate will work under indirect supervision, ensuring the achievement of set production and spending goals while adhering to policies, procedures, and professional conduct.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct day-to-day operations and maintenance of the plant, including working with mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Diagnose and correct adverse gas field and plant conditions and malfunctions.
  • Respond to alarm conditions, troubleshoot, and repair systems to restore operational capacity.
  • Adhere to company and project-specific health and safety requirements, participate in monthly safety audits and inspections.
  • Maintain administrative records, including logbooks, filing systems, and spare parts inventory.
  • Support, assist, and direct the work of contractors on-site.
  • Routinely operate a motor vehicle and/or off-road vehicle on undeveloped terrain.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrument control systems, including equipment such as motors, blowers, controls, and pumps.
  • Ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, and recommend sound alternatives.
  • Ability to work overtime, including call-outs outside of normal business hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with MS Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous military experience.
  • A technical degree in an electrical or mechanical field is preferable, or equivalent work experience with electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with gas compression and/or gas transportation.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The physical demands of this job include successfully completing a pre-employment physical, including the ability to utilize respiratory protection and all other safety requirements, drug screen, and background check. The employee will be required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and to sit, stand, or walk for 8-14 hour shifts, including walking long distances, up and down stairs, and on uneven ground.

The employee will be subject to random drug screening during employment per DOT PHMSA requirements and must be able to work in or outdoors during all seasons, including wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme cold and/or heat.
