Production and Shipping Coordinator

Thompson First Group is in search of a dedicated Production/Shipping Admin for a temporary to permanent position.
We encourage candidates with experience in production, manufacturing, or warehouse environments, particularly those familiar with inventory cycle counts, to consider this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities- Manage incoming communications and direct them to the appropriate personnel as necessary.
- Adhere to all plant Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) protocols.
- Procure plant materials or external services, generate related purchase orders, and ensure proper receipt of products within the operational system.
- Facilitate documentation scanning to support the Accounts Payable department and ensure timely invoice payments.
- Oversee and post temporary employee timesheets accurately.
- Coordinate material shipments by notifying carriers and scheduling delivery or customer pickup appointments.
- Prepare and organize shipping documentation to ensure accurate and timely shipments.
- Review transfer documentation and complete transfer receipts in the SYSPRO ERP system, addressing any discrepancies with shipping plants.
- Monitor inventory levels and liaise with the corporate Supply Chain regarding necessary material transfers.
- Input weekly cycle counts into Excel and generate performance charts for review.
- Participate in daily or weekly production and planning meetings.
- Engage in plant safety meetings and initiatives.
- Record daily production metrics for finished goods, bulk, and intermediate items.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Manager as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative support capacity, ideally within a production or manufacturing context.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiar with SharePoint.
- Strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Positive communication skills with plant personnel and corporate officers.
- Experience in production, Accounts Payable/Receivable functions, quality assurance, or logistics.
- High proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables and Lookup Functions.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Solid understanding of PowerPoint.
