Job Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods and materials within the company. This role involves managing the receipt and shipment of products, materials, and supplies, and maintaining the flow of goods and materials within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
  • Match shipping documents to product orders and ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Label and store received items in designated storage areas, maintaining a clean and organized shipping and receiving area.
  • Prepare and pack outgoing shipments according to shipping instructions, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.
  • Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to arrange deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Track and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Operate and maintain shipping and receiving equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve shipment and delivery issues, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with previous experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management, with the ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with shipping software, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
