Position Summary:

We are in search of a seasoned Financial Operations Manager. This position is crucial in facilitating manufacturing processes, particularly within the life sciences sector. The ideal candidate will have a robust finance background in a manufacturing context and exhibit a capacity to enhance strategic financial planning and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

  • Perform comprehensive financial evaluations, including variance assessments, cost-benefit analyses, and scenario modeling to aid operational decision-making.
  • Create, sustain, and present detailed financial models and forecasts to influence strategic business choices.

Operational Support:

  • Engage with manufacturing and operations teams to deliver financial insights and suggestions aimed at boosting operational efficiencies and minimizing expenses.
  • Track and assess key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with financial and operational objectives.
  • Assist in inventory management activities, including the analysis of inventory levels, turnover rates, and obsolescence.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Oversee the annual budgeting process for manufacturing operations, which includes establishing financial targets, preparing detailed budget templates, and collaborating with various departments.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts, ensuring the precision and reliability of financial data.

Cost Management:

  • Examine and report on production standard costs, identifying potential areas for cost reductions and process enhancements.
  • Formulate and implement cost control strategies and monitor their effectiveness.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Compile and present financial reports to senior management, emphasizing key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures, as well as external regulations.

Strategic Initiatives:

  • Assist in strategic projects, including capital investments, new product introductions, and process enhancements.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to foster business growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA is preferred.
  • 5+ years of finance experience in a manufacturing setting, ideally within the life sciences sector. (Candidates with a master's degree may qualify with 3+ years of experience.)
  • Strong analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the life sciences sector, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or medical devices.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, cost accounting, and inventory management.
