Position Summary

We are seeking a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer based in our Paducah, KY location. This role involves comprehensive management and strategic decision-making regarding the electrical systems for vessels and power grids at our facilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Directing the Engineering department's efforts in addressing electrical and control requirements for vessels and facilities.
  • Engaging in analytical thinking and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Ensuring a robust safety culture through consistent safety observations, evaluations, and audits.
  • Staying informed about emerging technologies and current practices.
  • Documenting all electrical work performed to maintain accurate records.
  • Participating in regular staff meetings, project progress discussions, and safety reviews.
  • Overseeing the procurement of parts for projects and supervising repairs, whether onshore or aboard vessels.
  • Coordinating with vendors and Ingram personnel during electrical repairs or installations.
  • Implementing automated control systems for electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Maintaining logs, records, schematics, and other essential documentation.
  • Reviewing invoices related to overhauls and electrical repairs.
  • Ensuring that all documentation related to vessel repairs is meticulously maintained.
  • Assisting in the training and development of chief and junior engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of vessel and facility systems is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) License is required or the ability to obtain one.
  • Knowledge of NFPA70 and NFPA70E standards is required or the ability to acquire them.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills are necessary to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction throughout all project phases.
  • Ability to manage direct reports, vendors, and processes across various domains.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage large volumes of information in alignment with customer service, operational, and regulatory requirements.
  • Capability to collaborate cross-functionally with multiple departments to achieve shared objectives.

  • Physical capability to navigate all work environments associated with vessel and facility docks, including lifting, climbing, and maneuvering through hazardous areas.
  • Ability to work in challenging weather conditions.
  • Comfortable walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Willingness to travel to various facilities as needed.
  • Availability for on-call duties 24 hours a day.
