About the Role:

Job Title

We are looking for an experienced Materials Characterization Technician to join our team at Desktop Metal. As a Materials Characterization Technician, you will be responsible for performing mechanical, physical, and chemical tests on materials, parts, and resins, and documenting the results with concise reports.

The ideal candidate will have a strong science background and experience working in a mechanical testing laboratory. You will be required to work with testing instrumentation and custom equipment, and assist in other testing areas as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the Analytical and Testing Team as needed
  • Perform tests to characterize materials
  • Generate data and reports for materials characterization
  • Assist in other testing areas such as resin characterization and polymer samples as needed
  • Assist in laboratory maintenance (cleaning, inventory, etc.)

  • Knowledge of mechanical and materials testing
  • Experience with a Windows computing environment (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) as well as the ability to learn custom software packages
  • Good mechanical aptitude and skills including working with mechanical equipment and building fixtures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Salary Range: $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience
