About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Executive Director of Furniture Operations to lead our Chicago showroom in Lincoln Park. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, coaching and developing a team of designers, and ensuring exceptional client experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Coach: Work closely with designers to bring out their best performance, providing coaching and feedback to drive sales growth.
  • Business Leader: Lead a team of direct reports, including designers, support managers, and store display staff, using data to identify performance issues and implement coaching strategies or process improvements.
  • Client Service: Be present in the showroom, interacting with clients to provide an exceptional experience, and assist with client service-related issues when necessary.
  • Recruitment: Identify, recruit, and interview qualified design applicants, and participate in interviews to provide input.
  • On-Going Staff Training: Assess staff experience and training needs, and assign training tasks to strengthen their performance in concert with company leadership.
  • Operations: Ensure all aspects of the showroom run smoothly, including scheduling, sales support materials, and communication between sales staff and other departments.
Requirements
  • Be available to work weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
  • Have access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license.
  • Be able to move through the showroom at a pace that satisfies client needs.
  • Have a bachelor's degree (ideally) or equivalent experience.
  • Have 10+ years of high-end/luxury furniture experience, with 5+ years in management.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office and have experience with sales systems, including Client Relationship Management and Point of Sale.
