Job Title: Director of Operations

The Director of Operations is a key leadership role at New Life Centers of Chicagoland NFP, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the organization. This includes coordinating with various departments, such as human resources, legal, marketing, warehouse, accounting, and IT, to ensure seamless execution of company goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and direct the daily operations of New Life Centers, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
  • Travel to different sites in various communities to support program and team needs.
  • Clearly communicate goals, objectives, and new information to team members.
  • Provide technical support to team members as needed.
  • Assure department alignment with compliance and grant requirements.
  • Analyze internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement.
  • Create and lead training for staff development with the COO and Executive team.
  • Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met.
  • May work closely with the Director of Data and Program Evaluation and Grants Manager to ensure deliverables are being met as stated in executed contracts.
  • Stay informed and up to date on compliance requirements for specific departments.
  • Participate in reporting as requested.
  • Approach leadership from a coaching/modeling lens.
  • Work with the Finance Department to communicate budget needs and/or changes.
  • Be a main contact person and representative for the Operations department.
  • Produce documents, receipts, and correspondence regarding activities and progress as necessary for consistent evaluation of operations and timely report submission.
  • Provide regular follow-up with departments to meet goals.
  • Utilize data/metrics to identify needs for improvement.
  • Assist in annual budget process and strategic planning.
  • Approve credit card reports and timecards.
  • Communicate with the Executive team regularly to ensure cohesive information sharing.
  • Implement regular evaluations and surveys with Directors, participants, and team to monitor quality of programming.
  • Supervise on-site visits, regular check-ins, and break-out planning meetings.
  • Encourage collaboration with partner relationships where possible.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of operation practices and strategies with emphasis on best practices and research-based methods.
  • Maintain accuracy of budget and spending plan, as well as all required documentation such as receipts.
  • Participate and lead required evaluations and audits.
  • Demonstrate New Life Centers' values.
  • Attend required meetings and trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must become a Certified Mandated Reporter. Training provided.
  • Must pass a background check, must not have any pending cases.
  • Must pass a Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System background check.
  • Must pass a National Sex Offender Registry background check.
  • Must have a working phone and phone number.
  • One year experience working in the human services field in a capacity that involves direct services to at-risk youth.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in managing people.
  • Cross-cultural competency.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be willing to be trained, and proficiently utilize database(s) and information tracking systems relevant to duties.
  • Must keep confidentiality of participant and staff information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Valid Illinois driver's license, insurance, good driving record, access to a vehicle. Subject to driving background check.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
