Job Title: Director of Construction

At T5 Data Centers, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Construction to lead our construction efforts in the Southeast market and other T5 markets.

Job Summary

The Director of Construction will be responsible for project management and leadership, including site management, subcontractor coordination, material and equipment management, and ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed. The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction, data center experience, and excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support general leadership of the Southeast market
  • Lead data center campus teams
  • Provide hands-on management support for individual projects
  • Manage overall budgets and corresponding subcontractor/vendor/consultant budgets
  • Manage overall schedules
  • Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely completion
  • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed
  • Ensure that subcontractors are fully executing and complying with the contracted scope of work
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions
  • Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project teams for resolution
  • Maintain daily logs (written) of activities on the jobsite
  • May perform Field Superintendent duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously
  • Ensure subcontractors have corrected all deficiencies identified by project teams
  • Walk all units on project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning
  • Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work
  • Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors in regards to quality of work or scheduling
  • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner
  • Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion
  • Complete other such duties consistent with your role as you may be assigned by T5 management
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, required
  • 3+ years Construction experience, required
  • 1+ years Data Center experience, preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Project)
  • Yardi, Procore, and Prolog experience, preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Division 2-10 (concrete through finish trade)
  • Provide direction to and resolve problems amongst subcontractors and vendors
  • Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution
  • Blueprint reading
  • Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures
  • Monitoring jobsite general health and safety
  • Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments
  • Interpersonal Skills - Focuses on solving conflict
