Position Title: Adjunct Faculty in Biological Sciences (Organismal Biology with Lab)
Special Instructions to Applicants:
The Contra Costa Community College District is seeking passionate educators to join our adjunct instructional team. We are currently offering teaching opportunities for an in-person 5-unit Organismal Biology course with an accompanying laboratory component. This course is tailored for students pursuing a major in biology.
Position Overview:
We are looking for dedicated instructors who are eager to contribute to our educational mission. The teaching assignments available include an in-person 5-unit Organismal Biology course with a lab component, specifically designed for biology majors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Communicate course expectations, evaluation criteria, and attendance policies to students.
2. Maintain accurate attendance and academic records, submitting them by established deadlines.
3. Deliver instruction that aligns with approved course outlines.
4. Develop and assess assignments and exams, providing students with feedback on their academic performance.
5. Collaborate with course leaders, department chairs, and technical staff to ensure compliance with institutional standards and coordination across course sections.
6. Conduct classes during both daytime and evening hours at various locations within the district.

Qualifications:
• A Master’s degree in any biological science, or
• A Bachelor’s degree in any biological science combined with a Master’s degree in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science, or
• Equivalent qualifications.
