Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach dramatic arts courses and direct productions at Los Medanos College. The successful candidate will have a strong background in drama/theater arts and the ability to work with a diverse student population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach dramatic arts courses, including acting, directing, and playwriting
  • Direct productions, including plays and musicals
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of diverse students
  • Evaluate student progress and provide feedback
  • Meet with students outside of class to discuss their progress and provide guidance
  • Maintain accurate academic records
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Master's or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance
  • OR Bachelor's or Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance AND Master's in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature, or humanities
  • OR the equivalent
  • Substantial formal training, experience, and interest in teaching one or more of the theatre courses listed above
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population
