Learning Outreach Librarian/Assistant Professor

Pittsburg State University is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Learning Outreach Librarian/Assistant Professor to join our team. As a key member of our library faculty, you will be responsible for developing and implementing collaborative programs, innovative services, and outreach initiatives that meet the diverse needs of our faculty, students, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement collaborative programs and services that support student success and academic excellence.
- Provide traditional librarian duties, including first-year instruction, reference, collection development, assessment, and academic department liaison.
- Foster partnerships with campus units, including the H.W. Smith Student Success Center, The Writing Center, and the Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology.
- Participate in promoting and marketing library events, services, and programs.
- Assist library users and partners with information literacy, digital literacy, and Open Education Resources.
- Develop LibGuides for subject specialties and explore options for embedding library resources in the academic learning management system.
- Engage in research, service, and professional development worthy of tenure and promotion as a faculty member of Pittsburg State University.
- Participate in university-wide committees and professional development opportunities.
- Masters degree in library and/or information science from an ALA accredited program.
- Effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated experience with web, digital, and electronic library content, production, standards, and trends.
- Strong customer service commitment.
- Minimum of two years of professional experience in an academic library or comparable institution.
- Experience with the assessment of information literacy and student learning outcomes.
