Job Summary

Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Human Resources Assistant to provide administrative support to the HR department. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR principles and practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HRIS systems and team member documents, including new hires, team member changes, performance documents, and terminations.
  • Provide administrative support in areas including training, onboarding, offboarding, and performance management.
  • Complete employment verifications, background checks, and other necessary paperwork for new hires.
  • Develop and prepare reports using HRIS and Excel to track team member information and data.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, two years of administrative support experience, preferably in HR.
  • Working knowledge of Arizona and Federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Clear a criminal background check and obtain a valid Level 1 Fingerprint Card.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, HRIS, and TA systems.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.
