Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Dispatcher to coordinate yard activities and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Assign loads to warehouse associates and designates storage areas for materials.
  • Load and unload materials, securing them with strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent damage during transit.
  • Operate various lifting devices, such as forklifts, to move products, equipment, and materials around the yard and warehouse.
  • Perform load-building tasks, determining the optimal weight, composition, and placement of loads based on customer orders and delivery vehicle capacity.
  • Convey materials to or from storage using hand trucks, forklifts, or other devices.
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials and mark information for correct identification.
  • Identify damaged materials and perform daily equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment and communicate effectively with management, staff, and customers.
  • Verify inventory against purchase orders for accuracy and assist with cycle counting to ensure inventory accuracy.
Qualifications:
  • One year of recent forklift/warehouse experience.
  • A safe work record and stable work history.
  • Ability to proficiently and safely use a forklift to transport products and load/unload trucks.
  • Ability to read and comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety materials, and other documents.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs using safe lifting techniques.
  • Knowledge of loading, unloading, and storage requirements.
