Purchasing Manager Job Description

At Selectek, we are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to oversee the procurement of raw materials, components, and services. This key role will develop and implement strategies for acquiring materials and services, build and manage supplier relationships, and ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for acquiring materials and services.
  • Supplier Management: Build and manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and assess performance.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, forecast needs, and prevent production delays.
  • Cost Management: Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure materials meet quality standards and resolve related issues.
  • Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with laws and company policies.
  • Leadership: Supervise and support one or more buyers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • 10+ years of procurement or purchasing management experience, ideally in manufacturing.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Epicor or similar ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
