Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified English Teacher to join our team at Fulton County Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction to students that enables them to learn and demonstrate mastery of the Georgia Performance Standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide content-related and appropriate instruction based on Fulton County's curriculum
• Create a classroom environment that promotes active learning in the subject area
• Exhibit knowledge of performance-based instruction and assessment
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and punctuality
• Adhere to all county, state, and federal policies and procedures
• Uphold professional ethics in all work-related activities
• Prepare adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent
• Collaborate with parents/guardians in all aspects of the student's educational program
• Facilitate home-school communication through conferences, phone calls, and written communications
• Integrate technology into classroom instruction
• Maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards colleagues and students

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited university
• Valid Georgia Teaching Certification in the applicable field
• 0-1 year of classroom experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven communication and instructional strategies
• Effective classroom management skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Working Conditions

• Classroom environment

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds with assistance
• Ability to push or pull a maximum of 50 pounds
• May require stooping or crouching
