Job Title: Audio Visual Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Audio Visual Systems Engineer to join our team at Synectics. As an AV Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, installing, and programming custom audio-video systems for our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement audio-video systems for museums, corporate environments, and entertainment venues.
  • Program and integrate control systems, including AMX, Crestron, and Alcorn McBride.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
  • Provide training and support to clients on system operation and maintenance.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans and milestones.
  • Lead the redevelopment and migration of existing interactive media content from legacy PC-based systems to BrightSign hardware.
  • Integrate back-end services with public-facing interactives and websites using front-end code.
  • Identify and resolve system design challenges and proactively devise plans to avoid future troubleshooting issues.
  • Share knowledge of current products and manufacturers, including BrightSign, Dakota Audio, Brown Innovations, Holosonics, AMX, Crestron, Alcorn McBride, QSC Q-Sys, 7th Sense, WATCHOUT, and Medialon control systems.
  • Commission all systems in the Money Museum to ensure proper functioning and performance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in human interface design, computer science, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of direct experience with user interaction design across diverse platforms.
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web-oriented technologies.
  • Preferred: Certified Technology Specialist (CTS).
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work under deadline and collaborate with team members.
  • Intermediate understanding and capability of programming Audio Visual equipment.
  • Experience with various system types, including DSP, controllers, network switches, displays, and how they interconnect.
  • Experience with Photoshop/Illustrator and video encoding to transcode older videos/programs into new formats.
  • Experience in game development tools and programming languages to bring concepts to life.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology.
  • Experience with SMAART preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software and engineering simulation tools preferred.
