Business Development Representative for Municipal Contract

SAFEbuilt is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Representative to sell outsourced community development services to municipal governments. As a leader in this unique industry, we offer a broad range of services, a national footprint, and a reputation for exceptional service quality.

Responsibilities:
  • Exceed sales and revenue targets through new logo contracts and upselling existing clients.
  • Develop a regional sales plan with a healthy, qualified pipeline, high win rates, and large deals sold.
  • Build a qualified pipeline of new logo opportunities through prospecting, networking, and building department openings.
  • Work closely with operations teams to grow existing accounts, pipeline new opportunities, and develop winning solutions.
  • Establish trusted relationships with client leaders and achieve maximum potential for SAFEbuilt in each account.
  • Execute successful sales strategies, techniques, and best practices to optimize win-rates and deals sold.
  • Create and present market and competitively differentiated solutions that SAFEbuilt can profitably deliver and support.
  • Prepare and respond to target account requests for proposals, company information, and presentations.
  • Successfully transition new logo clients to operations for effective client service delivery.
  • Provide feedback to management to improve sales, solutions, pricing, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Maintain sales and client databases and provide reporting and forecasting as required.
Qualifications:
  • Positive, high-energy hunter mentality.
  • 10+ years of professional, new logo consultative sales experience in complex business-to-government or business-to-business sales.
  • Deep experience and highly effective in complex, relationship-based outsourcing sales with long sales cycles.
  • Municipal government experience and a deep network of contacts, politically connected, and a solid understanding of jurisdictional environments.
  • Knowledge of construction, building, and community development work and industry is a plus.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and build trust with employees, professionals, clients, outside agencies, and the public.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing, for effective presentations and proposals.
  • Characterized as highly resourceful, innovative, proactive, and with the highest integrity.
  • 50%+ travel required, primarily within the region, with work from home office.
  • Proficient personal computer skills, including MS Office and SalesForce.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher, preferably in business, operations, public administration, construction, or economics.
Compensation: Strong base salary, bonus, and commission plan, vehicle allowance, robust benefits package, generous paid time off, and holidays.
