Maintenance Technician Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Schenectady JCC. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the good condition and functionality of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure proper functionality
- Inspect alarm systems and schedule repairs as needed
- Perform manual repairs, including fixing locks and replacing windows
- Conduct general upkeep procedures, such as landscaping and painting
- Maintain electrical systems, including replacing light bulbs and sockets
- Maintain floors by stripping, waxing, and cleaning carpets
- Repair and maintain walls, including cutting wood and hanging drywall
- Set up and tear down for events
- Perform snow removal
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC
- Certification in HVAC or CMRP is a plus
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Reliable transportation and driver's license
Physical Demands:
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Good physical condition and strength
- Able to stand on feet for long periods of time
- Able to kneel, squat, and bend for extended periods of time
