Job Summary

The Georgia Legal Services Program Inc is seeking a skilled Domestic Violence-Kinship Care Attorney to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will provide representation to relative caregivers in various legal matters, including custody, guardianship, adoption, and benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Interview clients to prepare temporary guardianships, custody, and adoption assistance.
  • Handle a variety of matters for relative caregivers, including legal representation and community education.
  • Develop and implement community education materials on topics relevant to kinship care families.
  • Assist in implementing the Kinship Care Project at GLSP.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited law school and Georgia Bar membership or willingness to take the next exam.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in working with low-income clients and/or poverty law issues.
  • Excellent oral advocacy, writing, and computer skills, as well as a reliable car and driver's license.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
Benefits

The salary range is $58,250-$77,200 depending on experience. The program provides generous fringe benefits, including paid holidays, paid time off, health, life, and long and short-term disability insurance, educational loan reimbursement, and a 403B with 3% match.
