Purpose of the Role

This position is responsible for providing technical EHS support, advising on technical EHS matters, and completing complex EHS initiatives for an operational sub-region in delivering against Sims EHS policy, strategies, plans, and goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and Operationalize EHS Policy and Processes
  • Provide Analysis and Insight for Learning and Decision-Making
  • Build and Maintain Trust-Based Relationships
  • Understand Front-Line Work and Operational Sub-Region
  • Advise on Risk Controls and Procedures
  • Implement EHS Tools and Systems
  • Support EHS Training and Development
  • Investigate EHS Incidents and Non-Conformances
  • Provide Insight on Process Hazards and Risk Rating
  • Facilitate Learning and Improvement
  • Support Environmental Protection and Community Impacts
  • Participate in Audits and Provide Guidance
  • Support EHS Committees and Stakeholder Audits
  • Provide EHS Information to Customers and Vendors
  • Support Injury Management and Return to Work
  • Lead Site-Specific Training Development and Implementation
  • Support Emergency Management Response Measures
  • Demonstrate Personal Responsibility for EHS Policies and Initiatives
  • Support Diversity and Inclusion, Positive Employee Relations, and Teamwork
  • Support Cost Management and Budgetary Requirements
  • Support Continuous Improvement Initiatives and Quality Requirements
  • Comply with Company Policies and Initiatives

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Combination of Education and Experience
  • Minimum 3-4 Years Experience in a High-Hazard Industrial Environment
  • Experience Implementing Workplace Health, Safety, and Environment Management Systems
  • Technical and Professional Certifications
