Role Summary:
TE Connectivity's Quality Assurance Teams play a crucial role in managing the Quality Management System of the organization, focusing on compliance and ongoing enhancement initiatives.
These teams conduct thorough evaluations of products, services, facilities, and manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
In this role, you will develop and implement quality strategies, programs, and procedures utilizing quality control statistics, lean manufacturing principles, and six-sigma methodologies.
Your responsibilities will include reviewing, analyzing, and reporting quality discrepancies, investigating issues, conducting quality audits, and formulating corrective actions for recurring problems.
You will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, customers, and suppliers to ensure that all requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for supplier quality-related topics and issues.
- Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities to ensure proactive quality measures are in place prior to production release.
- Enhance supplier performance through coaching, training, and motivation, as well as implementing necessary restrictions or disqualifications.
- Communicate and measure supplier performance effectively.
- Evaluate and approve new suppliers in collaboration with commodity teams.
- Review and manage supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions for new product launches and modifications.
- Monitor quality data to ensure accuracy and develop reporting systems for supplier performance trends.
- Ensure compliance with quality specifications and collaborate with engineering to adjust specifications as needed.
- Clearly communicate TE's quality expectations to suppliers and oversee corrective actions.
- Conduct audits of suppliers and maintain knowledge of ISO and TS quality system requirements.
- Facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with key suppliers.
- Coordinate supplier engagement events.
- Perform inspections and assessments at supplier locations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Process, Manufacturing, Chemical, or related field) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
- Experience in supplier development and conducting quality audits.
- Practical knowledge of problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5-why, and Ishikawa.
- Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.
