Job Summary

We are seeking an Associate Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, excellent technical writing skills, and outstanding organizational abilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and organizing their workload, working collaboratively with a team of professionals, and demonstrating a commitment to quality and excellence.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Work on various aspects of civil engineering design, plan preparation, permitting, and construction oversight in a project team environment.
  • Plan, design, and manage infrastructure projects, focusing on water and wastewater projects, but also including other infrastructure projects.
  • Contribute to projects by collecting existing utility data, performing modeling and simulation, site grading, water distribution system, sanitary sewer collection system, drainage analysis, roadway alignment, pavement marking, signage, and erosion control.
  • Prepare project design drawings using AutoCAD and other design software.
  • Develop project-specific detail drawings.
  • Calculate project construction quantity estimates.
  • Assist with technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, schedules, and other related tasks.
  • Learn and adhere to client-specific standards.
  • Coordinate with team members and client representatives.
  • Periodically travel to project sites for field investigation and/or construction support.
  • Interface with multi-disciplinary design teams.
  • Participate in local water and wastewater professional organizations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EI) designation is preferred.
  • Candidate should have a minimum of three years of experience; candidates with more experience preferred.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency, project responsibility, and initiative.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
