Job Summary

We are seeking an Associate Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with experience in water and wastewater projects. They will be responsible for planning and organizing their workload, working with a team of professionals, and demonstrating a commitment to quality and good communication skills.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering. A Master's degree is a plus, and Engineer-In-Training (EI) designation is preferred. They will be working towards becoming a Professional Engineer (P.E.).

Responsibilities and Duties

The Associate Engineer will work on various aspects of civil engineering design, plan preparation, permitting, and construction oversight while working in a project team environment. They will be responsible for planning, design, and construction management of infrastructure projects, focusing on water and wastewater projects, but could include other infrastructure projects.

The projects may include wastewater conveyance and pump stations, water supply, water distribution and storage, master planning services, including hydraulic modeling, and more. The candidate will contribute to projects, including collecting existing utility data, performing modeling and simulation, site grading, water distribution system, sanitary sewer collection system, drainage analysis, roadway alignment, pavement marking, signage, and erosion control.

The Associate Engineer will prepare project design drawings using AutoCAD and other design software, develop project-specific detail drawings, calculate project construction quantity estimates, assist with technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, schedules, and other related tasks. They will learn and adhere to client-specific standards, coordinate with team members and client representatives, and participate in local water and wastewater professional organizations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering and a minimum of three years of experience. A Master's degree is a plus, and Engineer-In-Training (EI) designation is preferred. They will be working towards becoming a Professional Engineer (P.E.).

The candidate will have excellent technical writing skills, outstanding organizational skills, a strong sense of urgency, project responsibility, and initiative. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
