Description

The Life Science Innovation group at MillenniumSoft is seeking a highly skilled engineer to develop innovative solutions that address current and future healthcare needs in the area of infectious disease diagnostics. The associate will work as a member of a multidisciplinary team that is developing technologies to address the global infectious disease diagnostics market.

The associate will design, implement, and test microfluidic and electro-mechanical systems, develop tests and fixtures to evaluate performance, and transition prototype designs and assembly procedures to validation level devices and procedures. The associate will also conduct device performance tests with biological samples, review and provide input into acceptance criteria for technical specifications, and communicate progress, results, conclusions, and test steps to the team and management.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design, implementation, and testing of microfluidic and electro-mechanical systems
  2. Develop tests and fixtures to evaluate performance and develop release criteria for microfluidic and electro-mechanical systems
  3. Transition prototype designs and assembly procedures to validation level devices and procedures
  4. Conduct device performance tests with biological samples
  5. Review and provide input into acceptance criteria for technical specifications
  6. Communicate progress, results, conclusions, and test steps to the team and management

Qualifications:

  • BS or greater in Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree
  • 3-5 years of medical device experience. Experience with disposable microfluidic devices strongly preferred
  • Experience with material selection, device assembly, injection molding, machining practices, and electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Experience in manufacturing process development, validations, and qualifications
  • Experience designing automated or semi-automated system tests is preferred
  • Experience with 3D CAD and Drafting (preferably SolidWorks Modeling)
  • Proficiency with equipment/fixture fabrication and machine shop skills
  • Self-motivation, focus, determination, self-reliance, open-mindedness, amiability, and flexibility
  • Ability to work effectively within the project team and the cross-functional organization
  • Working knowledge with biological samples and BSL2 environment a plus
