Overview

Orum Therapeutics is in search of a dynamic business development leader who will cultivate new high-value partnerships to out-license and collaborate on Orum's innovative platforms and assets. Reporting directly to the Head of Business Development, the selected candidate will collaborate closely with the Senior Manager of Business Development and various functional teams, including Research and Development, to identify, assess, negotiate, and finalize new business ventures and strategic alliances.

Key Responsibilities

- Play a pivotal role in shaping, refining, and implementing Orum's business development strategy.

- Identify and prioritize external opportunities for out-licensing Orum's technological platforms and pipeline assets to facilitate informed decision-making.

- Collaborate with the R&D team to explore and assess potential in-licensing or partnership opportunities that align with internal research initiatives.

- Lead a cross-functional team of Orum colleagues in managing deal processes effectively.

- Structure agreements and negotiate terms with prospective partners, ensuring progress through Orum's governance and decision-making framework.

- Foster and strengthen relationships with potential external partners throughout the negotiation process.

- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the scientific landscape and competitive intelligence to stay informed about emerging opportunities and shifts within the biopharmaceutical sector.

- Conduct competitive intelligence and positioning analyses to support Orum's partnership and product development strategies.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or advanced degree in life sciences.

- Over 10 years of experience in scientific research and/or business development within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical sectors, or experience in healthcare consulting or investment banking.

- Established network within the pharmaceutical industry, with a proven track record of leveraging relationships for successful partnerships, particularly in oncology and immuno-oncology.

- In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical deal landscape, including licensing agreements, collaborations, and strategic partnerships.

- Demonstrated success in closing transactions and collaboration agreements; a summary deal sheet should accompany the resume.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex scientific and business concepts effectively.

- Proven strategic thinking abilities to identify opportunities that align with the organization's mission and goals.

- Capacity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute positively to an innovative work environment.

- Executive presence with the ability to engage effectively in both written and verbal communications.
