Under the direction of the Director of Respiratory Care, the Registered Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care services to patients, including setting up and operating various types of respiratory equipment and delivering physician-prescribed therapy. The ideal candidate will promote and ensure continuity in the quality of respiratory care administered by the Respiratory Care department.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate various types of respiratory equipment
- Deliver physician-prescribed therapy
- Promote and ensure continuity in the quality of respiratory care
- Perform Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs), Electroencephalography (EEGs), or Electrocardiographs (ECGs) as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Demonstrate ability to effectively and creatively solve problems without immediate supervision
- Demonstrate ability to plan and use time wisely
- Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with patients/families who may be under physical and emotional stress
- Gather and exchange information effectively with nursing personnel, physicians, and customers
