Lead Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Lead Patient Care Technician to join our team at Alaska Regional Hospital. As a Lead Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities- Participate in the implementation of nursing care plans by performing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse.
- Obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care, including admissions data, vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake and output, calorie counts, and other patient information as outlined by policy.
- Assist with mobility by regular turning and positioning, dangling, and ambulating patients. Assist with use of walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs. Transfers patients to and from other units, departments, or entities. Assist with discharges. Demonstrates proper body mechanics.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living to include eating and drinking, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination. Changes bed linens as needed.
- Perform hourly rounding and respond promptly to call lights and patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
- Engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
- Meet with new hire PCTs at hospital-wide orientation. Precepts all new PCTs to ensure unit expectations and standards are known and followed.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
