Job Overview

Position: Packer

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Main Responsibilities:
  • Identify and engage in initiatives to enhance efficiency, product quality, and safety standards.
  • Inspect bag sealers for operational effectiveness and cleanliness.
  • Sanitize all equipment including the count stacker, bagger, accumulation table, and cooling conveyor discharge.
  • Configure appropriate messages for bags, verify the correct bag usage, set up the box printer, and select the suitable box message for the product.
  • Prepare pallets in accordance with the specified pallet configuration and label them as necessary, with the ability to lift weights of 50-60 lbs.
  • Maintain a clean workspace, ensuring it is free from hazards in compliance with 5S standards.
  • Organize and return boxes and bags to their designated locations, and power down machines as required.
  • Dispose of damaged items and waste in the appropriate dumpster.
  • Prepare the work area by cutting chips and managing racks and trays.
  • Assist with breaks or other tasks as directed by the lead person.
  • Review the production schedule to stay informed.
  • Select packaging plates with the necessary information according to the product specifications.
  • Complete the Finish Goods Distribution Tab form.
  • Sign in and out for utensils as needed.
Requirements:

Education and Skills:

  • HACCP training is required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.

Experience:

No prior experience is necessary.

Capabilities:

  • Able to work under direct supervision.
  • Capable of interacting courteously with colleagues.
  • Willingness to rotate shifts as required.
