Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily maintenance and upkeep of school facilities.
  • Perform routine inspections and repairs on various systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Implement emergency protocols for building systems and subsystems.
  • Manage waste disposal and ensure cleanliness of the premises.
  • Physical requirements include lifting tools and equipment, as well as climbing ladders for maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor equipment performance to ensure optimal operation and efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed logs and records of equipment usage and maintenance history.
  • Procure necessary supplies and equipment for facility maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and/or completion of a Vocational Trade Certificate Program.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in facility maintenance, particularly in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry (certification preferred).
  • Possession of Building Certification and EPA Universal HVAC License.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and blueprints.
  • Maintain the exterior of the building, including landscaping and snow removal.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience with complex equipment and computer systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
  • Interest or experience in an urban educational environment is a plus.
