Job Summary

ABM Industries is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for completing assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs, ensuring repairs and maintenance to all equipment and facilities, and responding to spills and other emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs, including conveyor, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, and other equipment, systems, or structures.
  • Ensure repairs and maintenance to all equipment and facilities.
  • Respond to spills and other emergency situations, performing tasks necessary.
  • Assist in emergencies as needed.
  • Optimize the repair and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems.
  • Use best practices to troubleshoot and repair equipment and system problems.
  • Maintain continuous operations of equipment by troubleshooting and repairing.
  • Foster a work environment that promotes energy conservation and continuous improvement of engineering functions.
  • Record all pertinent data in building logbooks and make all appropriate daily entries.
  • Conduct utility and equipment tests.
  • Record pertinent data on all equipment in accordance with federal, state, and local codes and requirements.
  • Process administrative paperwork in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Actively function as a team member.
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality of service.
  • Comply with ABM Industries and facilities policies and procedures.
  • Comply and participate in facility-specific safety programs.
  • Maintain regular attendance in the workplace.
  • Provide the highest quality of service to the tenants, staff, and visitors at the facility.
  • Participate in regular required communication with Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, management, tenants, and other staff.
Requirements
  • Strong plumbing and electrical experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
