We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to take on a pivotal role in our offshore brownfield asset retirement initiative.

The Lead Electrical Engineer will be instrumental in directing electrical engineering operations for the offshore brownfield asset retirement project. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, process, and structural engineers, as well as environmental and regulatory experts, to develop and implement electrical engineering strategies that ensure the safe decommissioning of offshore facilities while minimizing environmental impacts and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

In addition to producing engineering deliverables such as construction work packs, engineering studies, regulatory and environmental assessments, and asset management plans, a critical success factor for the selected candidate will be their ability to effectively manage workflow to remote (workshare) offices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage all electrical engineering tasks throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design through to execution and completion.
  • Create electrical engineering deliverables, including single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, cable schedules, and specifications, in line with project requirements and regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform electrical load and short-circuit analyses, voltage drop calculations, and protective device coordination studies to ensure the reliability and safety of electrical systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior electrical engineers and designers, promoting their professional growth and ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Work alongside project managers and other stakeholders to establish project scopes, timelines, and budgets, while monitoring progress against key milestones.
  • Engage with clients, regulatory bodies, and third-party contractors to address technical inquiries, resolve engineering challenges, and secure necessary approvals.
  • Participate in safety evaluations, including electrical hazard assessments and arc flash studies, to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with decommissioning activities.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to assess alternative electrical system designs and recommend optimal solutions.
  • Support procurement processes by reviewing vendor proposals, participating in technical evaluations, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility, ensuring that all electrical engineering activities align with company policies and procedures.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering roles, particularly in offshore oil and gas projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in electrical design, analysis, and optimization of offshore production facilities, including power distribution, lighting, and instrumentation and control systems.
  • Proficiency in electrical engineering software tools, such as ETAP, SKM PowerTools, and AutoCAD Electrical, for system design and analysis.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities, with a proven track record of effectively leading and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on delivering innovative and practical engineering solutions.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards governing offshore decommissioning activities, including API, NEC, and NEMA requirements.
  • Willingness to travel to offshore facilities and project sites as necessary to support engineering efforts and project execution.
