Position Title: Licensed Electrical Project Supervisor

Location: Remote/Hybrid Opportunity

Pontoon Staff LLC is a recognized leader in General and Electrical Contracting, focusing on Automation and Material Handling sectors. With a rich history since 1989, we have successfully executed over 8,000 projects throughout North America, encompassing installations, modifications, electrical and mechanical engineering, and rigging services. Our expertise also includes brokering services for newspaper and commercial printing equipment.

Role Overview:

We are in search of an experienced Electrical Project Supervisor with a background as a licensed electrician and substantial experience in managing industrial projects. This position will be primarily based out of our remote facility, with the possibility of up to 50% compensated travel across the nation.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Development:

  • Establish project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Create comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource distribution.
  • Ensure material availability for project teams through accurate take-offs.

Team Leadership:

  • Direct and coordinate the project team, including engineers, electricians, and subcontractors.
  • Delegate tasks, track progress, and ensure timely completion of objectives.

Financial Oversight:

  • Develop and manage project budgets effectively.
  • Monitor project expenditures to maintain budget compliance.
  • Authorize invoices and oversee financial documentation.

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide expert electrical guidance and support.
  • Ensure adherence to electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Supervise the design, installation, and testing of electrical systems.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Act as the primary liaison for clients, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Prepare and deliver project status updates.
  • Facilitate meetings to ensure effective communication among all parties.

Risk Assessment:

  • Identify potential project risks and formulate mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively address and resolve issues to maintain project timelines.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all work complies with established quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to verify system performance and safety.
  • Test and troubleshoot control and power distribution systems.

Documentation Management:

  • Maintain thorough project documentation, including plans, contracts, and progress reports.
  • Ensure accurate recording of project modifications and updates.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
  • Conduct safety audits and training for the project team.
  • Monitor job site adherence to NEC, Arc Flash, and OSHA standards.

Project Completion:

  • Oversee the finalization of project deliverables.
  • Ensure proper transition of completed projects to clients.
  • Conduct evaluations post-project to assess outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree required; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • State Licensed Electrician.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical project management.
  • Demonstrated success in managing electrical projects from start to finish.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, components, and construction practices.
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), CAD software, and relevant tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with control wiring, motor control centers, and closed circuit camera systems.
  • Knowledge of network cabling (e.g., Cat 5, 5e, 6, DeviceNet, fiber optic) and PLC systems is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Rigid, IMC, and EMT conduit.
  • Valid Driver's License and one additional form of ID required.
  • Minimum 10 years of industrial experience in the electrical trade.
  • Experience as a crew lead electrical supervisor.
