Job Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison's Nuclear Engineering and Physics Department is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to join the Pegasus research group. As a key member of the team, you will provide critical support for the heating and current drive systems, as well as the broader experimental facility.

The Pegasus-III Experiment is a cutting-edge, ultra-low aspect ratio spherical tokamak located at the College of Engineering. This innovative device uses local helicity injection to initiate plasmas, and the group is soon to install coaxial helicity injection and a microwave system.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for the heating and current drive systems
  • Collaborate with the research team to develop and implement new experimental techniques
  • Work closely with the department's engineers and technicians to ensure the smooth operation of the experimental facility
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 1+ year of experience working with high voltage systems
  • 1+ year of experience working with RF/microwave sources and components
  • 1+ year of experience working with multi-physics modeling tools such as COMSOL
