Job Summary

The Johns Hopkins University is seeking a highly qualified Program Coordinator/Lecturer or Sr Lecturer to join our Biotechnology Division. This is a unique opportunity to teach graduate courses, develop curriculum, and mentor students in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach six graduate courses per year, modeling teaching excellence and best practices.
  • Develop and provide input on the curriculum, including new course development.
  • Engage, advise, and mentor students from diverse backgrounds, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in faculty hiring and development processes, contributing to the growth and success of our team.
  • Assist in planning onsite and/or remote events and/or seminars, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a life science, computer science, or engineering field, with five years of experience after the degree.
  • One to two years of teaching experience online and/or at the graduate level, with a proven track record of success.
  • The ability to teach a wide variety of courses in the biotechnology field, with a strong foundation in life sciences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Terminal degree (Doctorate, Ph.D.) in a life science, computer science, or engineering field, with research experience and a strong publication record.
  • Three or more years of teaching experience online and/or at the graduate level, with a demonstrated ability to adapt to changing curriculum needs.
  • Three or more years of work experience in the life science and/or biotechnology field, with a strong understanding of industry trends and best practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with competing demands and multiple deadlines.
