Executive Underwriter

Crum & Forster is seeking an experienced Loss Sensitive Casualty Underwriter to join our Risk Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and growing a profitable book of loss sensitive, casualty business by driving broker relationships, soliciting target accounts, and developing underwriting programs.
Key Responsibilities- Meet profitability, account retention, and written premium goals determined by the department.
- Makes independent underwriting decisions and maintain proper file documentation.
- Participates in training to develop knowledge of department, products, and services within Risk Management and across the C&F platform.
- Participate in projects (i.e. product development, workflow innovation, etc.)
- Effectively displays ability to build and foster relationships by managing assigned territory, agents, and accounts.
- Travel requirement: 20%
- Bachelor's degree 10+ years of primary casualty underwriting experience, with a strong emphasis in workers compensation or equivalent training program preferred.
- Continuing insurance industry designations desired (i.e. AINS, ARM, CPCU, etc.)
- Underwriting knowledge of Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Automobile and Auto Physical Damage.
- Broker contacts in the Greater Philadelphia, or NY Metro area to facilitate building out a book of business
- Strong communication, analytical skills, and business acumen
- Tremendous energy as we build out the Northeast territory
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a commitment to honesty, integrity and unwavering business ethics.
