Job Description:
Locations: Philadelphia, New York City.

The Risk Management division is seeking a seasoned Executive Underwriter specializing in loss-sensitive large casualty risks. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset to cultivate a territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and expanding a profitable portfolio of loss-sensitive casualty business by fostering broker relationships, targeting key accounts, and crafting underwriting programs in collaboration with actuarial and collateral teams. This position entails driving qualified business flow from designated agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve profitability, account retention, and written premium objectives set by the department.
  • Make independent underwriting decisions while maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Engage in training to enhance knowledge of departmental products and services within Risk Management and across the C&F platform.
  • Contribute to projects such as product development and workflow enhancements.
  • Demonstrate the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships by managing assigned territory, agents, and accounts.
  • Travel requirement: 20%.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of primary casualty underwriting experience, particularly in workers' compensation or equivalent training.
  • Preferred ongoing insurance industry designations (e.g., AINS, ARM, CPCU).
  • Comprehensive underwriting knowledge of Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Automobile, and Auto Physical Damage.
  • Established broker contacts in the Greater Philadelphia or NY Metro area to facilitate business development.
  • Strong communication, analytical skills, and business acumen.
  • High energy and enthusiasm for expanding the Northeast territory.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, coupled with a commitment to integrity and ethical business practices.
