Housing Support Specialist

The Housing Support Specialist plays a vital role in providing treatment and recovery services to individuals impacted by mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate and conduct client interviews to assess eligibility and provide support.
- Manage client requests for housing and ensure timely processing of rent determinations and GHV/HCV applications.
- Communicate effectively with clients, case managers, and property owners to ensure smooth transitions and program compliance.
- Perform intakes, GHV/HCV applications, and provide required documentation to facilitate housing procurement.
- Regularly schedule interviews, obtain income verifications, and compute rents and utility allowances to ensure timely recertifications.
- Explain policies and regulations to property owners and participants, ensuring equal opportunity requirements are met.
- Collect and submit data for program evaluation and grant reporting, maintaining accurate participant records.
- Monitor regulatory changes and attend workshops, trainings, and seminars to stay up-to-date on best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in a helping field.
- 1 year of experience in the mental health field.
- Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) preferred.
- Bilingual abilities a plus.
